Why Organic Skin Care Products Are More Than a Trend

Going green these days has become less of an eco-friendly sacrifice and more of a hot new beauty trend. Organic beauty collections are popping up all over the place, to the point where some of the best products out there are the organic versions. So when it comes to your skin, get ready: there are a whole slew of reasons why organic skin care products are the way to go.

So why go with organic skin care products in the first place (aside from the whole loving the environment thing)? People with sensitive skin often find that organic skin care products are much gentler than traditional products. Natural products can offer skin solutions that products in regular skin care lines just can't compete with, like improved skin clarity and a glowing complexion without the use of harsh irritants. With all of these natural benefits, it makes you wonder why you ever slathered artificial ingredients on your skin in the first place.

Even though organic skin care products are gaining momentum in department and drug stores, some of the best organic skin care products can most easily be tracked down online. For starters, check out our favorite online website in malaysia:-

TSA: Topical Steroid Addiction and TSW - Topical Steroid Withdrawal

TSA: Topical Steroid Addiction
Sama macam kes2 ketagihan dadah yang lain, selalunya orang ketagih steroid ni bukannya disengajakan.

Kulit kena eczema. Kita gi doctor. Doctor bagi krim steroid. Kita sapu. Kulit kita jadi ok. Kita happy.
Bulan depan eczema naik balik. Kita sapu lagi. Eczema baik. Kita happy balik.
2 minggu kemudian eczema datang balik. Makin teruk. Kita sapu krim aritu. Alamak... tak jalan. Kita gi doctor. Doctor bagi krim steroid lagi kuat.

Kita sapu. Eczema hilang. Pastu dia datang balik. Lagi teruk. Pastu kita sapu lagi. Pastu tak hilang. Pastu sapu krim lagi kuat.
Rinse and repeat.

Kita cuma kena jaga pemakanan and persekitaran. Sekarang badan kita dah ketagihan. Bila ketagihan ni yang lagi payah nak baik.

TSW - Topical Steroid Withdrawal
Happens when we stop taking steroids.

Kalau orang2 tersayang tengok kita mcm tu, kalau yg tak tau tu akan marah and paksa suruh amik steroid. Tapi ni serupa mcm bagi mat fit dadah. Bagus ke? Ni memburukkan keadaan aje.
Selalunya TSW period ni depends on berapa lama u dah amik steroid. It will take 1/3 of the time you've been using. So kalau dah pakai steroid selama 10 tahun, so TSW may take 3 years. Maybe more maybe less.

Tengok nasib.
TSW ni datang in cycles.

SIDE EFFECTS OF TOPICAL STEROIDS

Masa kita mula-lula berkenalan dgn topical steroids kita rasa seronok kan?
Tapi tau tak kalau lama-lama pakai steroids ni tak elok? Cuba tengok side effects dia seperti yang tertera kat bawah ni.

KESAN SAMPINGAN PADA KULIT
1. Kulit pedih/rasa terbakar
3. Kulit menipis – bila kulit semakin nipis, ia makin senang tercedera e.g. senang lebam/bengkak
4. Kulit bertukar warna – rasanya ramai yg kena mcm ni. Bahagian kulit saya yg disapu steroid warnanya lagi cerah dpd warna kulit sekeliling

4. Osteoporosis
5. Di kalangan kanak2… kadar tumbesaran yang perlahan
6. Cushing’s syndrome (symptom termasuklah kenaikan berat badan yang cepat, kulit menipis, emosi tidak stabil)

HOW DOES STEROID CREAMS WORK ?

Bila kita sapu krim steroid atas kulit kita sendiri ataupun kulit anak-anak, pernah tak terfikir mcmana krim ni melakukan ‘keajaiban’nya? Sebenarnya krim steroid ni melakukan 3 fungsi:

1. MENGUBAH BAHAN KIMIA YG MENYEBABKAN RADANG
Sebab tu bila kita sapu steroids radang berkurangan.
Tapikan….. sbnrnya sang penjahat si arachidonic acid ni sbnrnya berasal daripada makanan macam daging, telur dan tenusu (dairy). Sbb tu penghidap eczema ni disarankan utk jaga diet.

2. MENGECUTKAN PEMBULUH DARAH
Korang perasan tak bila kulit tu dah gatal semacam, bahagian yg gatal tu jadi warna merah dan terasa panas? Ini terjadi sebab bila kita menggaru, pembuluh darah mengembang kat bawah kulit kita.
Steroids ni tolong kecutkan pembuluh darah yang dah kembang akibat perangai kita yang asyik nak menggaru tu.

3. MENGUBAH SEL SISTEM IMUN KITA
Eczema adalah sejenis penyakit autoimmune – system imun kita ni terlebih ‘rajin’ pulak dah. Bukan jer takat serang bendasing dalam badan kita, badan kita sendiri pun dia pi serang sebab dia tak boleh nak beza badan sendiri dgn bendasing. Hadoihh…

So immune system pesakit eczema ni dgn bersungguh2 la buat kulit pesakit tu radang (inflamed) kononnya nak bagi warning la ada bendasing dalam badan… padahal takde apa2 pun.
Steroids akan membuatkan immune system kita ni ‘tidur’… so dia tak buat havoc kat badan kita.

Cuba kita fikirkan kejap... bayangkan immune system kita ni mcm askar yang jaga istana kita. Dia tak boleh nak beza mana perompak yg nak masuk and mana penghuni istana. So instead of kita ajar dia untuk kenal siapa penghuni siapa perompak,, kita pi bagi ubat tidur pulak kat askar2 kita ni… hahahaha… pasni penghuni tak kena tembak. Tapi perompak pun terlepas masuk gak.

CARA2 RAWATAN CONVENTIONAL

What is photosensitivity

Sun allergy, also called photosensitivity, occurs when the body's immune system overreacts to sunlight exposure. Patients who are allergic to sunlight typically develop an itchy red rash on areas of the skin that were exposed to light. In rare cases, some patients may develop hives or blisters. Patients of all skin tones (from light to dark) can develop skin allergies. It remains unclear exactly why sensitive patients develop this reaction. It is believed that light causes changes in parts of the skin that are exposed to the sun. The body then identifies this sun-altered skin as a foreign substance, the same way it would bacteria or viruses. This triggers the immune system to launch an attack, which produces symptoms of an allergic reaction. The body then identifies this sun-altered skin as a foreign substance, the same way it would bacteria or viruses. This triggers the immune system to launch an attack, which produces symptoms of an allergic reaction. In some cases, chemicals from products that are applied to the skin (like lotion or perfume) or chemicals in oral medications (like antibiotics or diuretics) may lead to an allergic reaction to sun exposure. Photosensitivity is not the same as sunburn. Photosensitivity occurs when the body's immune system reacts to light. Sunburn, on the other hand, occurs when the amount of sun or ultraviolet light exposure exceeds the ability of the body's pigment called melanin to protect the skin. In some patients, the sensitivity to light gradually declines with subsequent exposures. If a cream, ointment, perfume, or other chemical is causing a sun allergy, patients should discontinue using the product and symptoms will subside. If a medication is causing symptoms, a healthcare professional may recommend discontinuing the medication or altering the dose. Once the offending chemical or medication is discontinued, the patient will not have allergic reactions to sunlight. Some patients may need to minimize their exposure to sunlight. However since Vitamin D is essential, please find suitable times for skin exposure (before 9am and after 5pm)

Q: Can food trigger photosensitivity? A: Yes, several foods are suspected of promoting photosensitivity, including: celery, parsley, parsnip leaves, carrot leaves, figs and citrus fruits.
